Aureum
Presented in the group exhibition Living Under the Fire, Aureum I, from the Latin "gold," is permeated by a yellow and golden luminosity that runs throughout the painting, from the foliage to the sun-drenched body. Integrated into the forest, the female figure suggests an attempt to re-establish ties with the natural world.
The title derives from the scientific name of the boa constrictor, Epipremnum aureum, and establishes a relationship not only with the plant depicted, but also with the symbolic connotations of gold as a material associated with the sacred. This investigation was later developed into small-format paintings, gathered under the title Fragments of Aureum.
